I entered new people into Kith and Kin Pro v2.02 satisfactorily last week. I am now trying to add a new spouse to an existing entry and variously get the message "Cannot make a visible window model" "Corrupt file - other than header Table (database name)/Families.XG4". It then leads me into completely the wrong family page.
On closing down, I got the message "Could not open. Index is out of date; Index: Idx Father" and was invited to rebuild the database which I declined.
Can the situation be retrieved? I have a backup from the middle of last month, but would prefer not to be engaged in re-entering a tidy bit of data.

Even after using repair tool had problems
I had a database corruption as well
, and even after using the Database Fix Utility it had major problems such as weird characters for some names, and one family which the code was invalid.
In the end I resorted to exporting the corrupt database to a Gedcom (Kith and Kin/Of that Ilk) format, including Non-Gedcom Fields.
It had lost some families and people, so I also exported a backup which was a bit older, then used a Merge and Compare program to recover lost information.
Then I created a new database and imported the new merged GEDCOM to that database.
All in all it took me about 6 hours work to recover from that corruption.
I've had Of that Ilk Pro (2.02) crash fairly frequently, but it is possibly it is the fault of my computer (not enough memory at 128 Meg, and a Windows ME that isn't quite stable any more).
So probably will buy a new computer soon and hopefully the problem will go away.
