Resizing chart element

Hi, I seem to be having a problem when entering text. What seems to happen on the last line of text is that the last word spills over onto a new line. If I try to resize the text box to accommodate a longer line by left clicking a box and dragging accordingly when I let go of the mouse button then the text box reverts to its original size with the previous word overspill occurring. Is there a way of increasing the text box size so that it will accept a longer line of text without overspilling the last word of the last line ?

If you un-tick "Word Wrap" under the Format menu the text should remain in a single line.
