Family Timeline grid (by marriage date) suggestion

Post by Richard Johnston » Sat Oct 13, 2012 5:18 pm

Nick

Not sure, but I believe I may have brought this suggestion up before..couldn't find it in the forum.

Just a suggestion about having a timeline grid feature that would sort the families on the tree my fitting them into a horizontally dated timeline..so the families would then be sorted my marriage dates...would properly show the generations by date.

Its not a big deal currently, but I have some generations side by side that are 50-75 years apart in time..just based on younger vs older parenting. Just another organizational/viewing tool?

Any feasibility? I thought it might make seeing the historical flow of the generations more easily discernible. I assume some problems could arise if no marriage date available..but perhaps that could be addressed in a manner I'm not thinking of currently (layering?)

hope this makes sense...

thanks

Richard
