Vista and K&KPro and TreeDraw
Unable to install either K&KPro or TreeDraw on Vista 64 as I am asked which program it should be opened with. (On the laptop running XP both programs installed with no problem.) Any help would be appreciated

Hi,
32-bit applications will run under Vista 64.
I think that maybe your installation of Vista is lacking the association between the .MSI file type and Windows Installer for some reason.
Try "Start | Run" and type in "msiexec <path to the program>\kithkinp.msi" where <path to the program> is the folder where the kithkinp.msi file is stored, eg. C:\Downloads.

Windows Installer
Hi Nick,
Thanks for that, but it only brings up a box all about Windows Installer.
Windows Installer was initially disableld and I have restarted it, but still cannot install Kith and Kin or Tree Draw.
Any ideas please.

Vista and K&KPro & Tree Draw
Hi Nick,
Now I get the following message:
This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.
Best wishes

Vista 64
Hi Nick,
I definitely have the right path as it is shown in the properties of Kith and Kin Pro. Have nowput the " marks in. All I get is the Windows Installer box opens up, but no further action, i.e. the program does not install.
I cannot uninstall Windows Installer as there appears to be no way to do this, even the Vista 64 cd does not give you an option to uninstall or repair.
Have now received the CD copy that I also ordered and hoped KKPro and TreeDraw might install from that, but no such luck.

Hi,
Problems with Windows Installer is really a Microsoft support problem.
You might find the answer in the Microsoft Knowledgebase. There is an article on the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=290301
