Converting old files (*.TRE) - Runtime error 202 at 0001:17C

Post by John Fleming » Thu Nov 01, 2007 5:46 pm

Running K & K Pro under MS Vista, trying and failing to import an old K & K file created back in 1994.

Following the advice given in the Help file under "old Kith and Kin", I used the KKCONV.EXE file to try to convert to version 3.1. No luck; it returned an error message "Runtime error 202 at 0001:17CF", and keeps doing the same thing, time and again. I have tried moving the file to the Data folder, child of the K & K folder in Program Files, also ran the conversion utility as administrator. Still no success.

The TRE file appears to have been created using an old version of K & K, program file dated 25-Sep-93.

Please can you help?

This is quite common and is caused by a problem in the folder structure on
your hard drive..

You will have to run the conversion utility like this:

Start | Run | "C:\Program files\Kith and Kin Pro\kkconv.exe" s-

(the s- switch stops the auto-scan feature)

and then add your K&K .TRE files using the Add button.
