Suggestion for screen navigation
- The screen control ball would be more usable if the screen movement was a lot slower & steadier, but even then you sometimes would still get lost, if you're at 100%, looking at blank space.
- 1.5 zoom option (but please not as incremental as TreeDraw's too-slow-and-jerky-to-be-useful wheel zoom)
One alternative to the trackball would be to dispense with the it (takes up too much space anyway) and have that when you Ctrl+click on the chart area, it snaps out to a zoom of say 7 (user defined), with the mouse pointer changed to a rectangle outlining what you were just looking at. You then drag this rectangle around & drop it where you want, and the view resumes in the new spot. The navigation panel would then be acceptably small, with only the arrow keys etc. Or have all that up on the toolbar. Or (dare i mention it) revert to right & bottom slider bars, their length proportionate to the occupied size of the chart area, as in say Excel.
I like the box idea though...
