Index will not open

After reading the discussions, do not find a solution for my problem. The Index on Kith & Kin will not open. When using the add it comes up with a blank index. Have tried the pack and the Borland Utility Fix - but the Index still doesn't come up. When I put in the code # it says "Invalid Code Number". Any suggestions? Rosie Hughes

I'm not sure what is happening here. Presumably this happened suddenly and prior to that "Edit | Edit Person" would show people in the list?

If you use "Tools | Statistics" what do you get for the number of people in the database?

Using Tools/Statistics comes up with 304.0kb with everything else showing "0". There was in the neighborhood of 22,000 records in it. Looks as though I will have to reload everything and then transfer to our website again. If this is done, will it change all the file numbers, etc. to match what is now being put into the program?

It's very unlikely that all the data has gone.

Are you looking at the correct copy of the database? You may have made backup copies to different folders or made new databases with different names and the database which you have open now may be the wrong one.

If you can't find any other database folders on your hard drive, you should copy your backup database back onto the hard drive.

You can't choose the P and F codes which K&KPro assigns to people and families. If you are planning on re-entering all the data from scratch you would have to enter the people and families in the order of their original P and F codes (if you want them to match up).

I only have one other data base and it only has a few name in it. Have the original GEDCOM that was put in so will try it and see what happens. Many thanks.
