Re: .tre files to GEDCOM

Which version of Kith and Kin are you using? If you set the "Receiving system" option to "Kith and Kin" and export all families you will get all the data including Kith and Kin specific data.

Re: Order of children from marriage

Hi, I assume that you are importing data using a GEDCOM file. The order of children within each family is defined in the GEDCOM file in each "FAM" section (see example below). You cannot change this order when importing the file into TreeDraw. I would suggest that you look at the system which has cr...

Re: Access Violation when I try to import descendant tree

Hi, Unfortunately with your GEDCOM file being so large and the problem lines also appearing as parts of valid lines, there is no easy way to correct the GEDCOM file manually. The way we found the errors was to import your GEDCOM file into the development version of TreeDraw and log how much of the f...

Re: Access Violation when I try to import descendant tree

Hi, Thank you for sending us your GEDCOM file. There are several GEDCOM formatting errors in the file, please see the example below where some lines start with the level number "1" but are otherwise blank. I'm not sure why "MyHeritage Family Tree Builder" would be exporting a GEDCOM file with these ...

Re: Access Violation when I try to import descendant tree

Hi,

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with TreeDraw.

Most likely there is a problem within the GEDCOM file. Please email the file to us using the email address at http://www.spansoft.org/cont.php and we will try to find out what it is.

Re: Marriage Order

Hi, Sorry to hear that you are having problems with TreeDraw. TreeDraw will arrange marriages in the order in which they appear in the GEDCOM file, irrespective of marriage dates, etc. It is easy to check what the GEDCOM file actually contains in a text editor. I suspect that MyHeritage Family Tree ...

Re: Access Violation at Address Kith & Kin Pro v3.2.4

Hi, Thank you for sending us your database. We have run various tests on the database but unfortunately we have not been able to reproduce the problem you are seeing. We are able to export the entire database as a GEDCOM file (this is where problems would normally show up), we can export various rep...

Re: Box around each person; where is the option to do it?

Hi,
All of these options http://treedrawlegacy.spansoft.org/manu ... ptions.php only apply to each new tree as it is imported. Once a tree has been imported it will not change (unless you edit it manually).

Re: Updating images, newly incorporated into Legacy Family T

Hi,
Adding new data to Legacy will result in new chart elements (new images in this case). Since this will modify the layout of the tree, the only way to ensure that the tree is laid out correctly is to import it again.

Re: Can generations be arranged on the same horizontal line?

Hi,
TreeDraw Legacy Edition does not line up generations at the same level. It wastes space and results in unnecessarily wide charts.

Hi,
Please use the "Boxed" option in the Import Dialog (where you choose the root person for the tree) http://treedrawlegacy.spansoft.org/manu ... ptions.php

Re: Date of death duplicated

Hi,
It sounds like you may have added the death date to either the "Name" or "Childs name" data type when setting up the import fields in TreeDraw. This type of data should only be included in the "Person details" data type. Please see Preferences | Import fields in the manual.

Re: Changing the page size on an existing chart

Hi, Thank you for sending us your TreeDraw chart files. >>> A4old1 opens without error, but shows nothing ... a blank window. A4old1 opens correctly and does contain chart data. You are just looking at a blank part of the chart because of some empty chart elements. Try zooming out and use "Edit | Se...
