Re: Saving problems

Hi, If you are logged in to your computer as a non-admin user then you, or any programs you run, may not have access to certain files or folders. The easy way to overcome this is just to run each program as if you were an administrator. Right-click on the the TreeDraw icon and choose "Run as adminis...

Re: Creating local web pages

Hi, The problem is that PDF does not support relative URL addressing which would allow you to click on the family rectangles to get to the family data. This is the reason that you are required to specify the full online URL in the export options. Your only alternative is to export the Tree Layout vi...

Re: Access violation

Hi, There are two possibilities. Either the program is corrupted or the options file is. Please find the file C:\<YourUsername>\AppData\Roaming\TreeDraw.ini and rename it to TreeDraw.ini.old then start up TreeDraw. This will reset the options file with default settings. If this does not help please ...

Re: Same sex couples

Hi, Kith and Kin Pro does indeed call a union between between a man and a woman which produces one or more children a "marriage". However, this is a bit of a misnomer in genealogy terms and "union" might have been a better choice. The modern "same sex marriage" does not produce any offspring and so ...

Re: Bug in WWW export with 2nd name of wife

Hi, We have now looked into your problem. This is not really a bug but is being caused by the "Aliases" feature. When you add a wife to a marriage, Kith and Kin Pro will automatically add an alias to the wife's record which uses her firstanames and the surname of her husband, see: Adding and maintai...

Re: show only first picture ?

Hi, You can choose which pictures to import into TreeDraw in Kith and Kin Pro. In the Kith and Kin Pro pictures dialog, remove the "Include image in output" flag against any pictures you do not want to include in TreeDraw: http://kithkinpro.spansoft.org/manual/html/pictures.php and then set the "Pic...

Re: Bow tie tree

Hi,
Unfortunately TreeDraw cannot do this automatically. The only way I can think of producing a bow tie chart in TreeDraw would be to manually move all the elements of one side around to produce a mirror.

Hi,
There is no size limit imposed by TreeDraw. The only problems you might face is if you exceed the resources available to Windows.

Re: Access violation after inserting images

Hi, Sorry to hear that you are having problems with TreeDraw. TreeDraw will not try to save the chart file automatically when you close down the program, you will get the usual "The current TreeDraw chart has been modified. Do you want to save it?" prompt. It is likely that the message you got was T...

Hi,
It may be a font issue. Do you get the same problem if you use a different font or font style?
