Nick, Many thanks for your prompt reply. I had already done what you suggested - twice and it didn't work over the weekend. This morning it did! Bizarre - or more likely Windows 7 doing funny things as I noticed an issue with my email client yesterday and today it had magically mended itself! Regards

Marriage Data Pictures not showing in exported Web Pages

Good morning, I have clicked the 'Insert Picture Button' in the Marriage Data Sources and inserted a jpg of a marriage certificate. However, after exporting the pages to the web, the picture does not show. Is this intentional or am I doing something wrong? I have successfully placed pictures in othe...

Thanks for the information, SundayForever (what a good name!), Below is a copy of my 'KithKinP.manifest' file, should it be amended and if so, how? <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <assembly xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1" manifestVersion="1.0"> <trustInfo xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft...

Kith and Kin Pro on Windows 7 Pro

Hello Nick. I've downloaded K&K from the Spansoft website, removed the original programme from the PC and installed (and registered) the downloaded programme. Unfortunately the same result - the UAC still opens and asks if I want to make changed to the computer! I wonder if any of the readers has an...

Hello Nick,

Thanks for your replies.

I've tried various workarounds but to no avail, other than turning the UAC off!

The odd thing is that Treedraw opens immediately

Do you think a reinstall of K&K would assist?

Regards

Kith and Kin Pro on Windows 7

Hello Nick, It is the UAC warning message. It reads: "Do you want to allow the following programme from an unknown publisher to make changes to your computer?" It then lists KithKinP.exe as the Programme name Publisher unknown and the File origin as Hard drive on this computer. If I click the 'Yes' ...

Kith and Kin Pro on Windows 7

Hello All, I'm now running Windows 7 and each time I click on K&K I am asked if I want to all the programme to make changes to the PC. Something to do, I suspect with UAC? Not a total show stopper - more of an irritant really. If I open say, PAF I don't get this and the programme immediately starts....

Good morning Nick, Many thanks for your rapid response. I tried to update from within the programme a couple of times but without success (my PC is running Windows 7 Pro, 32 bit). So, I've done as you suggested and, Lo and Behold, I now have the latest version up and running. I did so with a little ...

Kith and Kin Pro - latest version

Good morning Nick, Thanks for your email just received regarding v3.1.1 and the method of updating my (registered) programme. According to Help\About my version is 3.1.0 but when selecting Update, I am advised that the programme is up to date. Therefore, how do I obtain the current version? Regards

Good morning Nick,

Many thanks for your reply. I closed the 'new' database, opened it and, no change. I then closed it, reopened it and voila - it worked.

I must say how impressed I am with the programme and the support you provide. It knocks the spots off many competitors!

Regards

Peter

User Defined Fields (UDF's) - again

Good morning Nick, Further to our earlier correspondence regarding sorting UDF's, I have tried the following: 1. Made a copy of the original database - under a different name & 2. In the Options menu, amended the UDF's as required i.e. Census 1841, Census 1851 etc. by deleting the 'incorrect' ones a...
