Re: Loss of Drive with treedraw.exe in Old files
Hello Nick, Many thanks for a fast response and for the offer. It seems that it is my fault - I thought I would check the files on my laptop running Win 8 Pro 64-bit and most of those opened, before copying one to you. I noticed that the version on the laptop was a version behind 4.1.1. not 4.2.2, s...

Loss of Drive with treedraw.exe in Old files
[Desktop Win 7 Pro 64-bit with KKP v324 & TD v442] I have a problem with opening some of my older TreeDraw files in my main desktop Win 7 Pro PC. All my files were originally run on my old RAID desktop with Win XP, but now I have a Win 7 Pro purchased in Dec 21014 with the data files on D:/. The RAI...

Re: Import intire database
I can perhaps understand user99's frustration in wanting to import an entire KKPro database so that it is shown on one set of pages, but personally I would find this virtually impossible to handle, modify and even print out the complete set of pages. In my main database for FRY s of Symondsbury I ha...

Husband & Wife Icons missing from Tree Layout Prints
[Using KKPro ver 3.2.4, Windows 7 Pro 64-bit with HP Photosmart D5160 printer]. Following my previous query I have just realised looking at the tree layout prints that I although the screen image shows the husband & wife with children icons in the family rectangle the printed pages show only the chi...

Report Control Window in KKPro
For Report Control dialogue window text is inserted in the Report Title window. However closing the dialogue window or switching back and forth via the 12 tabs loses the text that has been inserted. For example, if I type in "Tho FRY Database - Tree Layout" and then switch tabs, or close the dialogu...

Re: Box around each person; where is the option to do it?
One can also draw a box round any element on the tree including a person's name with the associated date information. Click on one of the icons in top bar such as the "square" , draw it round whatever you want. You will find the inside is blank - the text is hidden - so click on the square to make t...

TD fails to open on Win 8 after Updates
This is just a brief query and perhaps a cautionary tale! I have been having trouble with a Win 8 Pro, 64-bit, laptop following updates. All programs have run OK with past Windows "Important Updates" installed. However, I decided to check whether MS Disk Clean-up and Auslogics Defragmenter should be...

Re: Loss of Month in Importing Data
Nick, thank you again for correcting my "mistakes". The first time I tried the revision nothing happened, then I looked at the three columns Months, Week Day names and Date prefixes on my desktop machine and realised that the corresponding columns on my laptop were all empty. Having renewed the miss...

Re: Loss of Month in Importing Data
I should have mentioned that I had noticed in my tree graphic that the full months January, September and so on had appeared in the date line. I had therefore gone to Options /Preferences/Replace Text tab and inserted the replacement short form of Jan, Sept, etc, but why would this have caused the c...

Loss of Month in Importing Data
Win 8 Pro 64 bit, KKP3.2, TD 4.4 I seem to be having a number of small problems recently, Nick! I have just noticed in importing data/updating text into a tree that I am losing the month. The day and year with the place all appear OK, but the month has vanished. I have checked two different trees an...

Default in Options/Preferences of GEDCOM when Linked to KKP
Using Win 7, KKP 3.2.4, TD 4.4.0 I've noticed when I open any TD file and look at Options/Preferences/ Import field tab the Current database window shows GEDCOM. Why is this file type showing and not the KKP database file that is linked to the tree that has been opened (or at least the first one in ...

Re: Ignoring Lines with No Birth,Baptism, etc., Data
Many thanks, Nick. That worked a treat and removed not just the identifier + text, but also the blank line that would otherwise have been there. I had not made any effort to alter the tree arrangement, so everything was back to the original. Further to this query I noted in menu item Edit/Undo Histo...

Ignoring Lines with No Birth,Baptism, etc., Data
Hallo Nick, After some time I have come back to my family history. Everything has been running normally and I decided to update my TreeDraw to ver 4.4.0. (and KKPro to 3.2.4) a few days ago. Every time I click on Edit/Text Update it inserts all the identifiers b., c., d. and bur. under all names in ...

Re: no children
You could insert the note into "Occupation" on the Person's Data form. This can be then be shown on the Family Tree. Perhaps not ideal, but at least it will be shown and printed on the tree?
