I first had my mtDNA tested in 2005 and I now note it is becoming quite common for this to be linked to people's trees. (MtDNA is passed down the female line - males have the mtDNA of their mother but cannot pass it on). I'd like to be able to select, say, families with people who had the same mtDNA as a certain female. In my set up this would mean all those families connected by pink lines. It would make it easier to pinpoint people for possible testing or to inform them that their result is already known.
For example, I found that my 3rd cousin once removed had his mtDNA result and that I therefore now know the result for my grandfather, as all the connection was through the female line. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has this interest?
