Printing charts

Post by Tia » Wed Aug 02, 2006 5:04 am

I've not had TreeDraw for long but was hoping that I would be able to print a Family Tree chart on one large sheet of paper similar to the last tree that was done manually (by sticking printed names etc on a large sheet of paper & then copied). I've loaded in almost 1800 names (Legacy) and was horrified when I realised how long this chart would be. Any tips on reducing the size of the chart so I can hang it in a frame like the last one which was 30" by 40". There are 8 generations in the Tree. I looked at the wheel chart but it seems that it's ancestral and I would like a descendent one - any tips? Thanks

There are various ways of reducing the size of the chart.

1) Reduce the import font sizes.
2) Reduce the amount of text imported - "Options | Preferences | Import fields".
3) Reduce the horizontal grid spacing.
4) and probably the best, reorganise the chart after it has been imported to save as much space as possible.
