Re: Export PDF File (Kit & Kin Pro V 3.2.4)

Hi,
Kith and Kin Pro has never had an option to add alignment marks to a PDF export, so I think that you must have been using some other method to export your PDF file. The PDF export feature in Kith and Kin Pro V3 has not changed http://kithkinpro.spansoft.org/manual/html/updates.php

Re: Updating Legacy Treedraw charts

Hi, Probably the easiest way is to add a new text element manually for the marriage details (it can contain any dummy text) and link it to the correct data in the Legacy database using "Format | Database link" http://treedrawlegacy.spansoft.org/manual/html/fmt_link.php Then use "Edit | Update text" ...

Re: Loss of Month in Importing Data

Hi,
Please use "Options | Preferences | Dates" and choose the correct settings. Then remove anything you put in "Replace text" to fix it.

Re: Ignoring Lines with No Birth,Baptism, etc., Data

Hi,

"Update text" is already a function which can be reversed with "Edit | Undo".

Re: Ignoring Lines with No Birth,Baptism, etc., Data

Hi,

Just use "Options | Preferences | Import fields" and tick the "Ignore lines with no data" box. Then use "Edit | Update text". This will remove the extra blank lines but bear in mind that it will not realign the chart.

Re: descendant chart does not adhere to the preferences.

Hi, Please check that you have also set your preference in "Options | Preferences | Import fields | Child's name". The layout is different for descendant trees because of the possibility of multiple marriages for each parent; this is not a possibility in ancestral trees. There is no shadow option fo...

Re: V1 to V4

Hi,
You will find the file V1_FileConversion.zip in the "Program files\TreeDraw V4" folder. Extract the contents of this file into the same folder and run TD2CONV.EXE. Please note that this is a 16-bit program and won't run under 64-bit Windows.

Re: enable editing not updating field

Hi, This appears to be a limitation of all date fields. The field which is displayed in the query results is actually the descriptive version of the birth date, not the underlying date itself. So by editing this field you are not actually editing the underlying date. We will take a look at this and ...

Re: Wide Format Printing - Chart Size

Hi, When you set the page size to 94"x36" does the page outline surround the entire chart? Remember that page margins are removed from the page breaks display, so setting the page size to A4 will actually show pages which are smaller. An alternative way to try printing is to export the chart as a PD...

Re: Lost my timeline file(s)

Hi,
The location of the timeline files cannot be changed. They must be on the Windows drive (normally C:) and in \KKPro3Data.

Re: Lost my timeline file(s)

Hi,

The timeline files in C:\KKPro3Data are:
Timelines.dat
Timelines.idx
TLEvents.dat
TLEvents.idx

If these do not exist, please recover them from a backup of the C:\KKPro3Data folder or reinstall Kith and Kin Pro V3 to install the default timeline files.

Re: Cannot import GED files.

Hi,

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with Kith and Kin Pro.

It is possible that there is a problem in the GEDCOM file. Please email the GEDCOM file to support@spansoft.org so that we can take a look at it.
