K&K Runtime edition?
Nick, Thanks for the reply, it's a shame that there doesn't seem to be a way to provide a stand alone edition of K&K. I have exported my database to the web and to CD as you suggested. But neither allows the flexibility of having a tree open in order to see relationships and the 'look & feel' of K&K...

K&K Runtime edition?
Hi, Nick, Still using and appreciating the program a great deal. At work we now have a very restrictinve policy on installing software other than those authorised to be used. So I had to uninstall K&K and the other 'handy' utilities I use! We are not even allowed to have music, photographs or ...

person or family to edit
Nick, Thanks for changing the behaviour of the pick list when selecting 'person or family to edit' it now remembers your last location. Before this when K&K used to revert to the first in the list I wondered if you could make it possible to just 'hit' P on the keyboard to jump to the first person or...

Records Modified
Hi, A while ago I discovered I'd been updating the wrong version of my Kith&Kin database, I didn't know for how long. Never mind I thought I can use the 'Records Modified' option on the 'Tools' menu for each database and look for any discrepancies. On investigation it seems that updating an individu...

Re-exporting html
Nick, For the first time I took advantage of the export to web option in K&K (one of those things I always wanted to get around to). Great page layout and family members have commented how easy it is to navigate around families etc. Today I wanted to update my online tree so went through the export ...

Second marriages
Nick, I'm having problems adding a second marriage to an existing family. Details all show but there is no line connecting the new marriage. I tried the same thing with a new blank database with the same result. I was running on v3.0.3 and noticed that this was a 'fix' available with v3.0.5 which I ...

Records modified
Nick, I've just downloaded the latest update (3.0.2) for which thanks, nice to have updates seamlessly available. Although while I'm on the subject; why does it take me through the entire install proceedure again? Couldn't it just update the 'bits' that have changed? Anyway, back to the 'records mod...

Folders
Nick, The location of the various folders was one of the things I was going to comment about. Most programs place their 'configuration' and ancillary 'things' into "Documents and Settings\user_name\prog_name". K&K v3 has folders - C:\KKPro3Data (for timelines and what looks like Db lock files and in...

Thoughts
Nick, Thanks for the solution about moving to a layer, works fine. Yoy probably won't remember but I e-mailed you a long time ago about the location of the database. I keep all my data on a separate drive and folder structure I found that I couldn't edit my tree, since then I've kept the data in the...

Upgraded to v3 - Some thoughts
Hi, Installed v3 (been running with K&K since it was on floppy!) The only program I've kept with after trying others - I just like the layout and style) A few obversations - I'll agree with an earlier post saying that the pick list when selecting 'person or family to edit' always goes back to the fi...
